Leg pain - causes and effective treatment

When something unusual leads to foot pain, the patient may experience pain or discomfort in one or more parts of the foot such as the toe, heel, arch, or sole.

Legs are an important part of the body. The legs should be strong enough to bear all the weight of your body as you stand and walk. Inside your foot is a complex system of bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

What causes foot pain?

Foot pain is a common problem with many different causes. But in general, these causes stem from two main reasons: living habits and pathologies.

Habits in living: one of the main causes of foot problems is wearing shoes that are not the right size, especially for women. They often wear high heels and can cause foot pain, because when they wear high heels, they put a lot of pressure on the toes. Injuries during intense exercise or sports such as jogging or vigorous aerobics can also cause foot pain;

Pathology: Some common causes include: sprains and strains, gout, warts, blisters, calluses, foot injuries… Sprains and strains often happen when people change direction. and sudden acceleration, falls and incorrect landing, etc. This will cause damage to muscles and ligaments. It can cause swelling, bruising, and pain, making it impossible for you to get up on your own. Other illnesses include:

Flat feet

For people with flat feet, you won't see the arch in the foot. Therefore, in order to keep the body balanced when walking, running and jumping, parts such as ankles, knees, hips and spine will rotate. Until the skeletal system is no longer able to bear the load, the patient will gradually experience pain in the ankles, heels, knees, waist, even neck.

Thumb bursitis (big toe deformity)

The patient's big toe will point towards the other toes, the big toe joints will protrude forming a bone tumor. The disease will get worse if you don't get treatment. In some cases, the patient will experience pain while others have no symptoms at all.

Myositis of the foot

The recognized symptom is pain in the heel and sole of the foot, ranging from mild to severe. The disease often occurs in people who are sedentary, causing the ligaments to have no elasticity, the foot muscles are weak. In addition, when wearing shoes that are too hard or too soft, high heels or being overweight, putting too much weight on the feet is also one of the main causes of plantar fasciitis.

Some of the treatments that you can apply

If you do not want to take medicine, you can consider treatment with chiropractic combined with physical therapy, which is also highly effective;
  • Wart foot pain treatment: A wart is a small flat white circle on the skin with black dots in the center. Acne appears on the soles of the feet and is painful due to the weight of your body when you stand or walk. Some types of warts can heal on their own, but it usually takes a long time. You can use an over-the-counter cream or gel to apply to the wart, a topical patch to help treat the wart;
  • Ingrown Toenail Pain: An ingrown toenail occurs when one side of the toenail begins to grow inside the skin around the nail, causing redness, swelling, and pain. The patient may feel pain when there is pressure on the toenail or some infection occurs on your toe. To treat it, you should cut the toenail straight and gently lift the skin off the nail using a cotton stick, this can reduce ingrown toenails;
  • Treat foot pain caused by diabetes, obesity or pregnancy: you can use some simple home treatments such as applying ice packs to the affected areas, using foot pads and try to relax your legs as much as possible. In some cases the pain becomes severe and interferes with the regular functioning of the body, you should see a doctor immediately. Also, if you have leg pain that doesn't go away after a week or two of home treatment, you should go to the hospital for treatment.
