1.1. Growth and collection characteristics

It is found in many parts of the world such as India, China, and Australia. In our country, this plant grows wild on moist mounds, swamps and even infertile fields. Concentrated mainly in the Central and Southern regions such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Ben Tre, Dong Nai or Lam Dong.

Small, light-loving trees, often growing on acidic, infertile soils, produce annual fruit. Small seeds are scattered around the parent plant and are easily washed away by rainwater. Leaves also have the function of absorbing organic matter when trapping small insects. When insects touch the wings, the wing feathers will immediately surround and secrete a liquid to stick to the prey, then decompose and absorb nitrogen through the leaves.

Water hyacinth grows all year round, so it can be harvested at any time. When harvesting, the tree will be uprooted, cleaned of impurities and sandy soil attached to the root. Finally dried or dried to make medicine.

Fruit season May - July.
