  • Each Bioflora 200mg capsule contains 200mg of lyophilized Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745.
  • Each pack of Bioflora 100mg powder for oral suspension contains 100mg of lyophilized Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745.

2. Indications of the drug Bioflora

Bioflora is indicated in:

  • Treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children in combination with oral rehydration.
  • Prevent diarrhea while taking antibiotics.
  • Prevention of recurrent diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile.

3. Dosage and way of taking medicine

Amount

Adults and children over 6 years old:

  • Take 1 Bioflora tablet per day.
  • Or take 2 sachets of Bioflora per day, divided into 2 times.

Children under 6 years old:

  • Drink 2 packs of Biloflora per day, divided into 2 times.

How to use

The drug is taken orally, specifically:

  • Powdered medicine: dissolve the medicine in the sachet into a glass of water.

The capsules are not recommended for children under 6 years of age (risk of choking).

4. Contraindications of the drug Bioflora

Bioflora is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the drug.
  • The patient had a central venous catheter placed.

5. Notes and cautions when using Bioflora thuốc

Note

Do not open the package near the patient's central venous catheter. Avoid any contact with the catheter, especially hands. Very rare cases of fungal infections in the blood have been reported in patients with central venous catheters even without treatment with Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745. Most commonly result in fever and positive blood cultures for Saccharomyces .

Due to the presence of lactose, this medicine should not be used in patients with galactose intolerance, the L-app lactase deficiency or the glucose and galactose malabsorption syndrome (rare metabolic disease).

In addition, this medicine should not be used by patients with fructose intolerance because the drug contains fructose.

Careful

Bioflora should not be mixed with alcoholic beverages, foods or drinks that are too hot (over 50°C) or too cold because the drug contains yeast cells that live and grow at 37°C.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

6. Undesirable effects

Bioflora may cause side effects such as:

  • Immune system: very rarely allergic reactions (possibly Quincke's edema), erythema, pruritus.
  • Skin and subcutaneous tissue: rare cases of urticaria .
