What is Kagasdine?

The active ingredient omeprazole is a benzimidazole with substituents attached, with similar structure and effect as pantoprazol, lansoprazole, esomeprazole.

Kagasdine (omeprazol) works by inhibiting gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system, also known as the proton pump, in the parietal cells of the stomach.

1. Usage

2. Dosage

To ease acid-related indigestion

Take omeprazole daily at a dose of 10 - 20 mg for 2 - 4 weeks.

  • Usual dose: 20 mg omeprazole / time for 4 weeks.
  • Then another 4 to 8 weeks if still not fully healed.
  • In difficult-to-treat esophagitis, a daily dose of 40 mg may be used.

Maintenance treatment of esophagitis after healing is 20 mg / time / day and in the case of acid reflux is 10 mg / day.

Peptic ulcer

  • Take a daily dose of 20-40 mg in severe cases.
  • If duodenal ulcer, treatment is continued for 4 weeks, and for gastric ulcer is 8 weeks.

Elimination of H. pylori in peptic ulcer disease

  • It is possible to combine omeprazole with antibacterial drugs in a 3-4 drug regimen.
  • The triple regimen consisted of omeprazole 20 mg twice daily or 40 mg once daily, in combination with amoxicillin 1 g and clarithromycin 500 mg, both orally twice a day.

  • Causes large breasts in men.
  • Gastritis, Candida infection, dry mouth.
  • Hepatitis with or without jaundice, encephalopathy - liver disease in people with liver failure.
  • Bronchospasm.
  • Joint pain, muscle pain.
  • Interstitial nephritis.
