Viartril-S tablets

Viartril-S is available in the form of capsules or powder for oral suspension with strengths of 250mg and 1.5g.

The drug belongs to the group of treating gout and bone and joint diseases.

2. Uses of Viartril-S

Viartril-S is indicated in some cases:

  • Osteoarthritis disease.
  • Primary and secondary osteoarthritis such as osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, hand, spine, shoulder.
  • Inflammation around joints.
  • Osteoporosis .
  • Atrophic bone fracture.
  • Chronic and acute arthritis.

Keep in mind that this is a prescription drug and should only be used under the direction of a doctor.

3. Cases where Viartril-S should not be used

The drug is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Patients with hypersensitivity to glucosamine or any of the ingredients.

  • Patients with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption due to the capsule containing lactose.

4. Instructions for taking Viartril-S

4.1. Dosage

Viartril-S is a medicine prescribed by a doctor. Dosage should be adjusted according to the age and symptoms of each patient. The dose of the drug will vary from person to person. You should note that the doses shown below are for reference only . Therefore, you must not arbitrarily take but must strictly adhere to the dose that the doctor instructs.

  • Dose for people over 18 years old: Take 2 capsules of Viartril-S 250mg x 3 times/day or 1 pack of Viartril-S 1,500mg orally once/day.
  • Glucosamine sulfate can be used alone or in combination with other drugs such as chondroitin 1,200mg/day. The duration of medication depends on the individual patient. You should use it continuously for at least 2 to 3 months to ensure effective treatment

4.2. How to use

The drug is taken orally, should be taken 15 minutes before eating:

  • For capsules: You should drink directly with water, swallow whole.
  • For powder for suspension: You should mix it with a sufficient amount of water, stir it thoroughly before use.

5. Side effects of Viartril-S

Unwanted effects you may experience when using the drug:

  • Gastrointestinal disorders: abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, constipation , diarrhea, dyspepsia.
  • Nervous system disorders: headache, somnolence, fatigue.
