3. Ferlin syrup should not be used if

  • Allergy to any ingredient, whether active or excipient, in the formulation of Ferlin syrup

4. How to use Ferlin syrup effectively?

Ferlin syrup side effects can cause stomach upset with nausea and vomiting

  • Due to its astringent effect on the mucosa, oral iron can cause stomach irritation, abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting.
  • Other possible side effects are diarrhea or constipation. Side effects can be reduced by taking the medication with or after a meal or starting at a low dose and increasing the dose gradually. May cause temporary tooth discoloration.
  • Dark stools may appear, which will go away once the medication is stopped.

  • Antacids: May reduce iron absorption.

  • Note on patients with stomach ulcers.
  • The therapeutic dose should not be used for more than 6 months without medical supervision.

8.2. Pregnant women and lactating women

  • The safety of Ferlin syrup during pregnancy has not been established. Therefore, the drug should not be used during pregnancy or labor unless the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
