Treatment of drug overdose Mephenesin 250 mg and 500 mg

Drug overdose has clinical signs with the following symptoms:

  • Reduced muscle tone.
  • Low blood pressure.

  • Loss of coordination.
  • Illusion.
  • Respiratory paralysis and coma.

Overdosage causes convulsions in children and may cause agitation and confusion in the elderly.

Treatment of overdose

In all cases of overdose, the patient should be carefully monitored for respiration, pulse and blood pressure. If the patient is still awake, it should be handled immediately by inducing vomiting, gastric lavage and treating symptoms or transferring the patient to a qualified treatment facility for emergency resuscitation.

Note that gastric lavage should be performed immediately along with the general indications for supportive treatment, ensuring ventilation and perfusion.
