Instructions for taking Diosmectite

Dosage

Adults: 1 pack each time x 3 times/day. In case of acute diarrhea, the starting dose can be up to 6 sachets per day. Particularly for ulcerative colitis, enemas are used.

Rectal enema: Use 1-3 packets each time x 1-3 times/day.

Children:

  • Under 1 year old: 1 pack a day, divided into 2-3 times. For acute diarrhea can use up to 2 packs/day for the first 3 days, then 1 pack a day.
  • From 1-2 years old: 1-2 packs a day, divided into 2-3 times. For acute diarrhea can use up to 4 packs in the first 3 days, then use 2 packs a day.
  • Over 2 years old: 2-3 packs a day, divided into 2-3 times.

How to use

Oral: Mix the package into a suspension before use.

  • Children: Mix each sachet with about 50 ml of water. Shake or stir well before each use. Water can be replaced with liquid food such as porridge, broth, vegetable juice or mixed thoroughly with semi-liquid foods such as vegetable and fruit purees.
  • Adults: Mix 1 sachet in 1/4 cup of warm water, stir well.
  • Drink after meals with patients with esophagitis. Take away from meals with other indications.

Rectal enema: mix 1-3 packets of medicine with 50 to 100 ml of warm water, then enema.

Diosmectite side effects
